“Gigantic,” a comedy starring Zooey Deschanel, Paul Dano and John Goodman, has been picked up by foreign sales agent Fortissimo Films.Pic, which is now lensing, is helmed by first-timer Matt Aselton and is skedded for delivery at the end of 2008.

Production is by Christine Vachon’s Killer Films and Mindy Goldberg’s Epoch Films, a commercials company that first ventured into movies with 2005’s “Junebug.”

Fortissimo has previously repped other Killer productions including “Camp” and “Party Monster.”

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are about to go through one long summer. According to Variety, Deschanel and Gordon-Levitt have signed on for 500 Days of Summer. They are joined by Clark Gregg, Minka Kelly, Matthew Gray Gubler and Rachel Boston in the cast.

The film centers on a man (Gordon-Levitt) who falls head-over-heels in love with a woman (Deschanel). The problem is that the woman doesn’t believe in love.

Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber wrote the screenplay and Marc Webb will direct. Shooting commenced on Tuesday in Los Angeles. No release date has been set.
